Revenge of the Fallen uses a similar framework with Megatron's boss, The Fallen, taking over as the new antagonist, but the movie adds several superfluous story elements to pad the film's runtime. Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) made contact with Bumblebee and the Autobots, they uncovered a sinister plot to transform all the electronics in the world into Decepticons through the use of a MacGuffin known as the AllSpark, then they teamed up to defeat Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, and saved the world. While the first Transformers movie also prioritized grandiose action over concise storytelling, the overarching plot was still simple enough. ![]()
